Massachusetts POA Requirements
For a power of attorney to be legally binding in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the document must meet the following requirements:
- The POA document must list the following:
- name, SSN, and address of the principal
- name and full contact information of the agent(s)
- date of the agreement
- specific powers you wish to include or exclude (if any)
- when the powers begin and end
- Witness Requirements: The POA document must be signed by the principal, a notary public, or two disinterested witnesses.
